About the Artist
I am a realist painter working from life in oils and drawing media.
My goal is to uplift you with my paintings, similar to the experience of standing directly in nature.
I like to start a piece from life in order to fully grasp all available impressions and changes in light and mood.
If the painting and studies on location are pushed far enough and I have collected enough information to mentally see the end result I also take reference shots and even continue working on it from imagination.
The same process applies to figurative subjects and portraits.
